self-aligning ball bearings

Structure

Self-aligning ball bearings are bearings equipped with spherical balls between the inner ring with two raceways and the outer ring whose raceway is spherical. These bearings can automatically adjust when bending occurs in the shaft or housing, without increasing bearing load.

They are characterized by their outer ring raceways being spherical, enabling automatic self-aligning. This allows compensation for errors caused by misalignment and shaft bending, but the relative tilt between the inner and outer rings must not exceed 3 degrees.

Features

Primarily bearing radial loads, these bearings can also sustain minor axial loads. They allow axial displacement of the shaft (or housing) within the limits of their clearance and have automatic self-aligning capabilities. They can function normally under conditions of slight relative tilt between the inner and outer rings, making them suitable for components where the concentricity of the support seat hole cannot be strictly ensured.

Self-aligning ball bearings with dust covers or sealing rings are pre-filled with an appropriate amount of lubricant. Their primary applications include precision instruments, low-noise motors, automobiles, motorcycles, and general machinery, making them one of the most widely used types of bearings in the mechanical industry.
