DF Type Heavy Duty

Face Seals

The DF heavy-duty duo cone seal consists of two rectangular rubber rings and a pair of metal rings. The metal ring’s contact surface with the rubber ring is L-shaped, which plays a crucial role in stabilizing the seal within its seat cavity. During operation, the torque generated by the rubber rings provides the necessary transmission force, ensuring the face seal’s reliable performance and operational stability.

Application and Design Features

The L-shaped floating seal is primarily designed for heavy-load equipment, commonly found in heavy mining machinery prone to significant vibration and impact. It is typically used in components such as mining equipment, rocker arms, sprockets, and reducers. This seal configuration includes two L-shaped floating seal rings and two rubber rings (rubber dish springs), which are assembled within the L-shaped floating seal seat.

Similar to the DO-type seal, the L-shaped floating seal operates on the principle of utilizing the torque generated by the rubber rings to stabilize its position within the seal seat. The rubber rings, known for their greater deformation capacity compared to O-rings, enable a larger floating range, enhancing the seal’s adaptability to varying operating conditions. Moreover, the design of the L-shaped floating seal facilitates ease of processing and assembly, making it a practical choice for applications requiring robust sealing solutions in heavy-duty environments.

DF Type vs. DO Type: Installation and Design Considerations

The DF-type design offers advantages over the DO type, requiring less installation space and featuring groove shapes that are easier to process. However, precision in groove processing is crucial due to higher accuracy requirements for accommodating this series of seals.

Differences in compression deformation between DF-type rubber rings and DO-type rubber rings necessitate strict adherence to specified compression sizes and clearances during installation.

At Decent Machinery, we not only deliver high-quality face seals but also specialize in tailored solutions designed to meet specific requirements such as cost considerations, material compatibility, operational environment, temperature constraints, and maintenance needs.
